I bought this lanyard after losing a pair of glasses while boating (turned my head and the wind blew them into the water). I put the lanyard on my glasses and gave them a mild tug (way less than the effect of wind), and one side of the lanyard came off immediately and the other side was almost off. The problem is that there is no way to adjust the lanyard to individual frames. I'll be looking for something else before my next boating trip.

I bought this along with a Croakie Micro Suiter. I much prefer the Chums to the Croakie. The Chums lanyard is soft and comfortable. The grips work for a small to perhaps medium size temple pieces and grip securely. I think the lanyard is long enough for all but a giant.
Overall, this product is simple and it just works!

Fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous.
For about 5 years I've been wearing typical-style reading glasses found in drug stores. I'm on the computer all day, but still need to take my glasses off very often. The 2 temples (side pieces) are about 1/8" wide and 1/16 to 1/8 inch high; and they taper a bit wider as they get to the end like most side pieces do. Last year I got tired of constantly misplacing my glasses, so I bought some typical retainers with the little plastic loops. Well, 3 times a day I'd find my glasses perilously hanging from one temple, or crashing to the floor altogether, so I went on an Amazon search for something better. I purchased these Chums with rubber grips because they were different. WELL, I love them. I recently went on a 2 week trip to Europe. My glasses hung from these retainers from sunup to sundown, and did not fall off once! It was incredible. The cord is shorter than some, but not a problem. It might be a problem if you have huge hair and are constantly taking them on and off, but then you're missing the whole point. The rubber grips end up resting about halfway on the temple, so I don't see them in my peripheral vision nor do they get tangled in my hair. I've worn these for 3 months now and my glasses have never slipped out of these retainers. Highly recommend!
