not as advertised
By Bernard J Guarino
The description on Amazon says this magnetic handle has 100 lbs of pull. However, when the package is received it will say 'holds 100 times it's weight'. I tested it against about a 25 lbs metal box, and the magnet would not hold the box.
This is a unacceptable deception.

Re-review = stronger than I thought.
I originally posted a review on first impressions without proper use, so I am fixing that.
Its a good magnet. The handle fits my medium size man hands great. Has to get within a couple inches for it to grab on to anything, but is still strong.
I originally rated this a 3 star and gave it a semi good review based on "It could no way pick up 100lbs" like many other ppl here without trying. But the thing is not many ppl have a piece of 100lb metal laying around. Today at work I used it on a metal roller that weighed about 20lbs+ and swung it back and forth like a picnic basket with not problem, while I walked and it stayed solidly held on.
Yes you can easily get it off something by twisting the handle to break the contact, but pulling perpendicular to a clean metal surface I would say there is a chance of it holding 100lbs.
I will have opportunities to use it on heavier pieces of steel plate and such and will update when I do.

this thing did not work at all. I have 300 old thumb tacks stuck in my garage wall, and I do not want to have to pry each one out individually, so I thought I'd get this magnet and use that to pull the tacks out (they are all able to be picked up with a magnet) but this isn't powerful enough to pull them out (they are in drywall, and not stuck in there very deep) this thing with the specs it had listed should have had zero problem pulling out these tacks from the drywall...but nope.
pass on this one, it's very weak
