Smooth operation at 100 pounds per caster/400 per set...Not even close!
By Amazon Customer
I see that this set of casters (Reliable Hardware Company RH-9005-SET-A Casters Swivel Top Plate 2-Inch Wheel Diameter Zinc, Set of 4) has rated quite highly in customer reviews. My experience has been less favorable:
I purchased a set because, 1. Amazon's description is "Load Rating 100 Lbs. each Caster," and 2. the set was very inexpensive.
The set arrived promptly, the casters seemed well-made, and I installed them on a base I built for a table saw which weighs no more than 150 pounds. Immediately, I noticed that there was a LOT of ROLLING RESISTANCE in the casters (on a smooth concrete floor), and sure enough, a few hours later there were FLAT SPOTS in the soft wheels...lumpy rolling! (I should mention that this happened in my 75 degree basement, so softening from high heat isn't the issue.)
I think these casters would be great for much smaller loads (medium-hard rubber wheels would provide smooth, quiet rolling), but clearly would not handle 400 pounds as a set!
I went to a local big box, purchased another set of inexpensive casters with harder wheels, and everything is good.

Perfect for home equipment around the garage and other places
I needed these for my compressor so I don't have to lug it around anymore. I'm 71 and would rather roll my equipment to the cars or trailer. They came yesterday and I fabbed a bracket to mount them and had em installed before dinner. They are easy to mount(using 1/4" machine screws with nuts) and roll nicely on the garage floor. Just what I needed.

They attached easily and roll smoothly
By Amazon Customer
Well made casters, heavier and larger than I imagined. Equivalent items are about $4 each at The Horned Despot. They did not come with screws, which was inconvenient, but #10 or #8 wood screws fit the holes. I used these for a DIY roll-out pantry next to my refrigerator, so the casters were screwed into a piece of 1/2 plywood. The cabinet weighs less than 200 lbs full, so these are probably overkill for the application, rated at 100 lbs each. They attached easily and roll smoothly. Very satisfied.
Will update to 5 stars if in 6 months they are still rolling smoothly and haven't marked up my kitchen floors.
