Surprisingly thin and lightweight, this twin-unit fan can be lifted easily with just one hand and placed inside a window frame. Each half has its own switch for intake or exhaust, so both can be set the same, or one can intake cool air while the other exhausts warm air. Just one button turns the fan on and selects either high or low speed, as well as any of five thermostat temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. When outside air rises above the selected setting, the fan automatically cycles on. Powerful without being too noisy (in fact, on ‘low’ it’s downright quiet), the fan uses 80% less energy than a room air conditioner. The fan’s six-foot cord affords good reach to an outlet, while the included remote control lets the fan be operated from across the room, handy when you’re in bed and want to turn it on or off. One end of the fan features a retractable, accordion-style extension, which along with two separate 3-1/2 by 12 inch rigid plastic extensions, enables the fan to fit snugly in large windows. The fan can also be positioned vertically, but for casement windows mounting hardware (free) must be specially ordered. With all extensions in use, the fan stretches to 37-1/2 inches in length. Without them, the fan measures 24 by 12-1/2 by 5 inches. The slim, one-button remote control requires two AAA batteries (not included).
