Great little pump
By Ken Okin
Great little pump.
Note of caution: this is the 505700 with the 10' cord.
If you want the 25' cord you need the 505701 which Amazon doesn't carry.

I wouldn't use this pump if it was given to me. Safety concerns!
By Flying Forker
I've purchased at least three of these in the past. Located them indoors under a hot tub, to assist if the tub fails. So not much for them to do. The first one failed after about two years (warranty one year). The second one failed within the warranty period, and their approach was to have me diagnose, and send me parts. The third one failed catastrophically after about two years, and got so hot it melted the aluminum housing. Franklin's response (the manufacturer) was to bounce me around to four or five folks, then basically tell me to pound sand since it was out of warranty. I asked if they even wanted to see pictures of the pump or have me mail it back to them, since it was obviously a safety hazard (aluminum melts at 1220 degrees F). They were completely disinterested.
I would not use one of these pumps if they gave it to me. Its not worth the chance of burning down your home, or having you breath burning metal fumes. Given their customer service, I would not use any of their products. I think this company is about driving sales, not service.
I've attached pictures that show what molten aluminum looks like. These are the pictures that Franklin did not want to see.
I'm also thinking about contacting the Consumer Product Safety Commission about this terrible product and worse customer service. I expect Franklin might take notice if the CPSC contacted them.
BTW, I don't think I've ever written a negative review before. This product and company response motivates me.

This is my second Little Giant as my first lasted about 10 years, just had holes rotted through from being submerged all that time and I expect this one to be the same.
There seems to be nothing else like it.
