Handy, Bright Solar Light for Side of House--2 Thumbs Up
By Doug Robinson
I recently got this from Amazon and I will use it on the side of my garage, to illuminate the path to the where I keep my garbage cans. To test it out before mounting it, I put the solar panel in the kitchen window for a day, so it could charge the battery up. That evening, I turned it on in the kitchen and was pretty impressed with the amount of light that filled the kitchen. I decided to let it stay on until it ran out of power, but even 7 hours later, it was still going--and that was on brightest option! This means that it would easily last all night, or pretty close to it.
It came with an extra-long, 15-foot cord, and the connector between the solar panel and the light was good and snug, which means it will be resistant or impervious to rain. The button on the side includes high, normal and low light and the solar panel has an electric eye which automatically turns the light on, when it's dark enough that you would need it. The unit came with all the screws and mounting hardware I will need to mount this up high, right under the eaves. I have to trim a tree back, that's right beside the house, but after I do, I'll update this review with pics of that too, so you can see it in action!
I can't think of anything I would do to improve this product, so...
My Rating: Two Thumbs Up!

Very pleased with the unit so far
Very pleased with the unit so far. I use this in a lamp post in my front yard and generally the light stays on all night. I sit the charging panel on the ground nearby. On a cloudy day it will still pick up a charge but won't stay lit all night. The brightness switching helps, if you don't need full brightness it will stay lit longer. It would be nice to have the option of having it turn off at midnight or something. For the price this was perfect for my needs. I was looking at solar light post heads and they are $100 and up and I didn't get the impression the panel and batteries were powerful enough to keep it lit through the evening. This would also be ideal for barn or other outdoor lighting needs. Enjoy (if anyone is interested in a photo of my set up let me know and I will post it)

Excellent solar light
I have bought several solar powered lights in the last three years to light up my covered porch/deck. I haven't had great results until I bought these lights. For starters the solar panel is roughly 6 inches square (roughly 3 times larger than the other lights I've bought), the power cable is similar in diameter to a lamp cord and detachable so you can connect it through a wall and finally the light has three different light settings. This light is bright enough for me to read under on the low setting and the battery lasts all night after a summer days charge. I am extremely happy and have bought 4 total.
