BRIGHT wireless motion-sensing light!
By Gordon M. Wagner
Big, BRIGHT wireless light. Runs on 4 "D" cell batteries. I attached a photo showing this new unit next to a 6-LED unit from Fulcrum I'd purchased last year. I installed this 12-LED model on the rear exterior wall of my house, where I had always intended to get a 120V light wired -- I have my grill back there and it's sometimes pitch black dark, so this light is a big improvement.
The shape of the light is more attractive than the 6-LED light I have, even though the business end of the light is larger. It's easy to install, three wood screws (included) hold up a back plate and you slip the light unit over it. There are also wall anchors included if you're installing in drywall. Really a great product, very clever and nicely designed. I could not be happier. Solved a problem that had bugged me for years!

Easy to Install - Works like a Charm
[[VIDEOID:27106c90e64f8df7a88acde1a4d294b0]]We have the 6 LED version of Fulcrum's Porch Light but needed a brighter version around our garbage cans and recycling bins in our backyard. My husband installed two of them on the exterior of our house without any cussing or multiple trips to Home Depot! They are super-bright and the motion sensor comes on immediately when we step out the door. I'm thinking of getting one for our attic as well.

Inexpensive lighting solution for certain areas
By John W. Graham
I have Mr. Beams lights around my house but this is the first Fulcrum product I have used.
I got this specifically to use near a garage side door.
Installation is easy, requiring only 2 screws and a screwdriver. Actually, I pre-drilled my holes to prevent splitting wood at the installation site.
I like to investigate the lumens output. A typical 6o-watt equivalent LED bumb will produce 700-800 lumens, varying greatly by manufacturer.
This product produces 270 lumens using 4-D batteries. That would be equivalent in lumen output to a 20-25 watt light bulb. Having said that, this product has 12 LEDs which provide daylight spectrum lighting over a focussed area. So the appearance is very bright and probably adequate for what you are trying to illuminate.
The light is activated by motion and stays on for a short time after detecting motion. I find the motion sensor to be quite sensitive if you are within its range of detection.
My experience with the Mr. Beams is they eventually get moisture inside and have to be discarded. Only time will tell with this product.
Overall - this is an inexpensive way to add lighting to an area without the need for electrical wiring. The LEDs are energy efficient enough so that your D-batteries (which aren't cheap) last a long time. I find that mine last 6 months. Note that when they say "last 100,000 hours" they are referring to the life-span of the LEDs, not the life of the battery with typical usage.
