Thin bottom but other than that I love it!
By S. Kwan
- Lots of compartments.
- Easy to adjust straps.
- Color is as pictured -- at least for the Tourmaline Green.
- Roomy. I bought this for a trip but serves well as a school bag if you don't travel heavy (i.e. use ipad for textbooks and have binders/notebooks)
- Slim frame. This can be a con if you're looking for something wider. It's okay for my 14" lightweight laptop.. not so great for the 16" laptop (desktop replacer)
- The main compartment's bottom layer is thin and I question its' durability. This makes me afraid of using it for anything heavy or put it on sharp/rough surfaces.
- Not waterproof.
I will update this later after a week of vigorous use as a day pack with hikes in Hawaii.
I took this to Hawaii and it actually worked out great. It was raining parts of the days we were in Hawaii and the backpack repelled the light rain and sporadic showers so that was nice. Still not sure about heavy rain or if it gets dropped in water. Otherwise it was great, light and comfy for hikes.

Best Day Pack!
By Jennifer Leon
I absolutely love this day pack!!! It is my go to pack for hiking. I always research large purchases to make sure I'm getting exactly what I need and this backpack had great reviews. It is made to fit a woman's body which is why the hip belt is a bit lower than the men's version (Osprey Talon 20). I like all the compartments especially the separate hydration bladder compartment. The shoulder strap pocket is perfect for my cell phone or my EDC knife. Other reviewers were concerned about the waterproofing of this pack. I simply purchased the Osprey UL Raincover XS...nothing is getting through that! The bungee tool attachment is great for carrying my trekking pole (I only use one pole but two would easily fit). I bought a small Nalgene bottle for the side pocket (my regular size one was too large).
I only wish it had straps on the bottom so I could attach my Thermarest Pad. Instead I just stick it into the second side pocket. Not a big Con but I figured I'd mention it.
Overall, I love this pack. I even recommended it to my friend and she's getting one too. :)

Definitely a must-have backpack! Contemplating about it? JUST DO IT!
By Tracy Le
I absolutely love love LOVE this pack! I've been looking for a backpack that I can use on a daily basis for school as well as day hikes around town. I've been on the fence about this one and the Mira 26/34 for awhile because I was worried that 20L would be too small for me. I was wrong. I went to whole earth provisions to try both of them on, and this one fits me perfectly and it fits all my stuff inside! I'm 5'3 125lbs with a pretty petite body, and I got the XS/S. The back is a little curved, but no where near as curvy as the Mira. I would be a little worried about bending my laptop if I chose the Mira. I also have scoliosis, so my back is constantly aching/hurting, but this backpack took so much relief off of my back and it felt really nice!
The main two things that I was looking for in a backpack was for it to fit all my books and laptop for school and for it to be able to hold a water pack for day hikes. If you look at my pictures, you can see that it holds A LOT of stuff for being a 20L. I have my file organizer, laptop, looseleaf textbook in a binder, two journals for class notes, as well as my little daily journal. I could easily fit a few more things including a snack or some clothes. Another thing that I was super excited about (and forgot to even take it into consideration) was the fact that it holds my 1L Camelbak eddy! It's a bit snug, but I loosened up blue straps on the side and it was fine.
The only thing I would complain about is that there isn't any other compartments besides the one on top but it's p small. That's probably where I'll put my pens and what not for class and snacks for day hikes. But overall, I love this backpack, and it was worth every penny!
