High-performance and large capacity make this jointer a truly industrial machine. This eight-inch jointer has a 1-1/2 horsepower induction motor and a cast iron table. The cast iron fence tilts 45 degrees in and out with positive stops at both extremes and at 90 degrees for easy set up. The infeed table adjusts easily with the lowering and raising lever. A parallelogram support system assures superior chipbreaking for cleaner cuts. When the height of the infeed table is adjusted, the front edge moves in an arc around the cutterhead to maintain a minimal clearance that reduces chipping of the workpiece. - Unique parallelogram support system allows the table to move in the same area as the cutterhead when raised or lowered. This uniform, close clearance to the cutting blade acts as a more efficient chip breaker. Table supports (4 per table) are linear-extension, spring counterbalanced; adjustment is virtually effortless despite weight of cast-iron tables. Aluminum lips bolted to the main tables are replaceable to compensate for wear.
- The DJ-20's 8" cutting capacity is ample for the majority of wood widths available. Cast-iron base assures less vibration; cabinet stand completely encases motor and pulleys to protect from dust and shavings. Large panels allow easy access inside the stand if adjustment or repair is necessary. Built-in chip chute is designed for hook-up to a dust collection system if required.
- Big 4" X 12" rabbeting ledge supports work securly right at the cutterhead. Note how center-mounted fence act as a rear guard when fence is moved forward to table edge.
- Specially-designed cast-iron fence is extra long for continued support throughout the cut. Fence is center-mounted and functions as a rear guard on narrow cuts. Positive stops 45° in and out for accurate chamfering and beveling - scale in back measures angle set. Handy stock scale mounted at the end of fence measures jointed stock prior to planing in English or Metric .
- Extra-long infeed table provides a full 42" of work support. Unique diamond ribbing ensures that weight is best distributed throughout the length. Height adjustment lever and locking handle facilitate repetitive jointing.
- Modular cutterhead provides a consistently clean cut. Three knives operate at 5500 rpm - 16,500 cuts per minute for a smooth finish. Cutterhead knives project only .020" above cutterhead surface to help reduce kickback of stock. Jack-screw arrangement allows easy replacement and adjustment of individual knives. In the event the entire cutterhead has to be removed, a new module can be fitted in place without production down-time.
