Amazon.com Review
Frankly, it's hard to go wrong with air tools from Senco, and this coil roofing nailer is no exception. It can shoot 11-gauge full round-head roofing nails (from 7/8 to 1-1/2 inches); the magazine has a capacity of 120 nails. This is well-balanced gun, among the lightest roofing nailers on the market at only 5.2 pounds. We really appreciate Senco's Neverlube design, which uses a graphite seal and an internal lubrication system that eliminate the chance of oil staining your work and, of course, cut down on required maintenance. Because of the pin-and-hole locking system, it's virtually impossible to bump the magazine open, so you don't have to worry about spills the way you do with lesser coil nailers. Senco's other nice touches include their well-designed straight-drive guide body, which reduces jams, and the rubber bumpers on the body of the gun that prevent it from sliding down the roof. This nailer has a toolless depth-of-drive adjustment, too, so you don't have to climb down off a roof and hunt for a tool to make a minor adjustment. The gun also comes with an adjustable shingle reveal gauge, a handy bonus feature you won't find in many of the competing nailers. The SCN40 is a sturdy, top-of-the-line roofing nailer, with all the attention to detail Senco is known for. We rank it among the top two or three in its class for weight, reliability, and performance. --Brian Trinen

From Hanley-Wood's Tools of the Trade
This roofing nailer has unique straight-nailer feature that keeps nails straight while going in. The handle has a very comfortable foam grip and a small plastic trigger. The debris shield is hardened plastic and stays out of the way. Adjustable depth-of-drive gauge requires no tools. Adjustable shingle gauge requires Allen wrench. Steel body protectors. This nailer does not need oil. Great balance and feel.Copyright Hanley-Wood, LLC
