Powered by a 3/4-horsepower, ball-bearing induction motor, this lathe has a speed range between 500 and 2,000 rpm. It has the capacity to turn spindles up to 36 inches long and for face plate turning, the swing over the tool rest base is 8-1/4 inches, 12 inches over the bed, and 16 inches outboard. The headstock pivots for outboard turning and can be positioned anywhere along the bed. Cast iron construction and a ribbed design give the lathe bed its strength and reduce vibration. The tailstock is hollow, allowing the use of a hollow cup center and long boring bits for drilling into workpieces such as lamp bases. Easy to use controls like multi-position locking levers and an oversized tool rest locking handle make for convenient adjustments. Two Year Limited Warranty on machines, parts, and accessories.
