Swap it out for your insinkerator, but prepare to do a little work
By Michael H.
This machine is a champ. My old model was an Insikerator badger, and it was seized with no chance of salvation. The Insinkerator model was switch-less, and activated by turning the stopper. The guys at Home Depot only sold Insinkerator brand, and told me I couldn't buy another model that operated this way. I would need to install a counter-top switch, which I didn't want to do. Luckily, some internet research led me to this "Batch feed" model, which is exactly what I needed to replace my Insinkerator.
This installs pretty easily. I had to remove the power cord that came with this, and hard-wire the garbage disposal to the line the old one was connected to (it has a dedicated circuit-breaker). This wasn't too hard, but required purchasing a clamp connector to secure the electric cable in the body of the disposal. Installing this also required removal of the Insinkerator sink flange (i.e. you won't be able to swap this out with existing Insinkerator hardware)
TL;DR This is a great replacement for an Insinkerator. It has a quiet powerful motor, costs less and has a longer warranty. This model doesn't require a switch: it operates by turning the stopper. You might need a clamp connector if you want to hard-wire this in your house, instead of plugging it in. You can't use existing Insikerator mounts for this; you'll need to remove the drain and replace with the included Waste King hardware.

Better than Insinkerator
By Lynne K. Warshaw
Used the Waste King to replace a same horsepower batch feed Insinkerator which died right after its warranty expired. Just as another Insinkerator had. Have had the Waste King for several years and no problems. It comes with a longer warranty than the Insinkerator and was less expensive to buy and no problem to install.

It has a plastic tube connecting the sink to the disposer. It feels kind of flimsy. It does seem to work well. It is nice and quiet. THe switch is eas to use. The quarantee is fantastic. If it fails they pick up ALL of the costs to have it replaced. Nice.
