In hammerdrill mode, get ready to be impressed with the speed you drill into concrete and other masonry at 34,000 blows per minute. Every inch of this tool is quality, from the 1/2-inch metal ratcheting chuck and its carbide jaws to the super-comfortable grip and beefy extended-life XRP 18-volt battery. Balance in hand is awesome, and the 360-degree auxiliary handle adjusts easily to just the right position. The DC385 recip saw's keyless blade clamp wins points in our book for fast blade changes. And talk about fast—with its one-inch stroke length, it runs at 2,900 strokes per minute. Like the drill, it's well-balanced and feels good in hand. It's compact, lightweight and offers great cutline visibility through the pivoting shoe's open top. Plus, we like that the blade will reverse for flush and plunge cutting. The rotary hammer's factory-set clutch protects your arm from any sudden high-torque reaction should the bit jam up. The DC988 18-volt 1/2-inch adjustable clutch hammerdrill/drill/driver uses a DEWALT built high-torque motor to deliver 500 in.-lbs. of torque for drilling bigger holes and driving larger screws. The 3rd speed is 38-percent faster, with a range of 0-2,000 rpm and 0-34,000 bpm. The DC988 features a 1/2-inch metal ratcheting chuck with carbide jaws to keep a tighter grip on the bit. The DC385 reciprocating saw has a keyless blade clamp and cuts 80 two-by-fours on one charge. This kit also comes with the DW999 7/8-inch SDS electro-pneumatic rotary hammer. The electro-pneumatic mechanism provides fast penetration and reduced vibration. It comes with a factory-set clutch that reduces sudden high-torque reactions if the bit jams. The optimum drilling range in concrete is from 5/32- to 3/8-inch holes, but the unit can be used for occasional drilling in holes up to 7/8 inch. The DW919 floodlight has a flexible neck, which allows the user to point the beam in any direction. It offers up to three hours of continuous lighting on one charge.
