The Shopmaster DP400 is a home woodworker's dream--it has all the details of a professional-grade drill press without the cost. The chuck-to-table depth of 27 inches will be the envy of your neighborhood, allowing you to drill into the longest work pieces. You'll get to the center of a 16-1/2-inch board with no trouble at all, and a generous 3-3/8-inch stroke means you won't have to keep readjusting the table. Even when you do, it's a breeze with Delta's smooth rack-and-pinion mechanism. The table measures 12 inches square and tilts for angled drilling. No matter what you're drilling into, one of the 12 speeds--from 250 to 3,000 rpm--will be right for your material. Have some repetitive drilling to do? The adjustable-position locking depth stop will take the trouble out of the job. You're open to a broad range of bits with this machine, as its chuck will accept bits up to 5/8 inch. The built-in gooseneck lamp lets you position this drill press anywhere in your shop, and you'll always have great task lighting.
