This one's geared for screw sizes 8 and 10 and you get a perfectly centered hole, every time. The spring load retracts easily with just a little pressure, and operation is smooth. Hinges on doors, cabinetry, gates, chests, furniture are a snap to install once you take the approximation and guesswork out of the picture, and that's exactly what this bit does. Ideal for close-quarter drilling, the Self-Centering Hinge Bit features a spring-loaded outer guide and tapered tip that keeps the bit centered for perfect pilot holes, every time. These bits are fantastic for drilling pilot holes for cabinet and door hinges, door butts and all for fastening hardware large and small. An adjustable drill depth with a Maximum of 1-1/2" accommodates size 8 and size 10 screws.
