NOT AS ADVERTISED
By T H Hodge
I read the reviews before purchasing these and trusted the description written by the vendor. Unfortunately, these are very inexpensive thinly cut pieces of olefin carpeting with the same backing that comes with olefin. They have not been coated with non-slip backing and have absolutely no latex or anything to help these stay put on my wooden stairs. A good description would be a piece of cardboard with a little carpeting on top and I would consider them to be a safety hazard for humans and animals. When I say they won't stay in place, I mean they are like placing a paper towel on a step and hoping it won't move. There is no way they could be vacuumed without having been taped or nailed in place. In my case, the stairs are very nice and neither tape nor nails are acceptable. I purchased these because they were "skid resistant" but this is not the case. They are going back.
To continue, I asked for a return label and Dean Flooring did state I could return these to their company but they would recommend I purchase their tape to keep these in place. That would be another purchase and I have already lost confidence in their portrayal of their products. They also said they have more expensive treads that would not slip. So there you go - the bait and switch. They would not cover the return shipping costs. I filed a claim through Amazon stating these were falsely advertised and Amazon reimbursed 90% of the shipping costs. I have shopped with Amazon for years and highly recommend their professionalism and expertise. I will no longer be purchasing anything from Dean Flooring. I would give them 0 stars if that were possible.

Good for the price
They look pretty nice. As mentioned in other reviews, they come folded in half which is frustrating, but they'll lay flat after a couple days. Also previously mentioned, the back is supposed to be non slip but it does indeed slip quite easily. A couple strips of rug tape did the trick though. I read the other reviews and knew of these problems ahead of time and purchased these anyway because the other options were insanely expensive (like double the price!). Now my 75lb Lab/Rottweiler mix no longer slips and falls down the stairs!

Perfect Answer for Our Dog Getting Up the Stairs...
By Michael B Shore
Recently, my 9 year old dog had an episode on the front staircase where his legs slipped on the stairs coming up. Since then he has been petrified to go up the stairs. He would finally surge up with fear in his eyes. This was a dog who ran everywhere and even up and down my backyard stairs. The slippery steps had him scared.
Then i bought this stair carpet runners and voilà! he is running up and down like always. They stay in place, look attractive and have made our lives so much better and Harry loves to go out the front door and up and down the stairs once more. And for the price? Crazy good purchase.
