Great picture, really poor design, dont buy it
By Tom b
Product is poorly design for new construction or retrofit. Tried using in a retrofit, spent 2 hours fighting it. Product does not correctly allow for drywall thickness. The design wants the exhast pipe to be up against face pate/ rim, right where there is 1/2"of dry wall. Needed to bend, push and cut box to barely fit. Once installed, now the pipe in the box is hard up against the inside back of box, good luck getting the flex hose to the dryer attached. Don't waste your money, just cut a hole in the wall and call it done.

Fatal Design Flaw
I am a builder and was excited about adding this nice feature to our homes, however there is a critical design flaw in the product. It has stand-offs to install directly onto studs which allows for 1/2" drywall to go behind it. However, the depth of the box and scored locations for the dryver vent pipe would make the vent pipe stick out of the wall on its way to this dryver vent box. I will be returning it to Amazon.

UPDATE: A HACK TO MAKE IT WORK... good idea. not well designed
Update: Originally I was very disappointed in this product, as the 4" vent fit flush with the dryer box frame, leaving no room for dry wall between the vent and the frame. Yesterday, I got the idea to try a 4" 90 Degree Adjustable Elbow (Speedi-Products even makes one available at home centers for $3.98) to replace the piece of 4" vent that comes with the dryer box. The elbow is adjustable to other angles besides 90 degrees, so by fiddling with it, I was able to adjust the angle so that it gave the space necessary for 1/2" dry wall to fit between the vent and the dryer box frame (see photo). Since I had to buy the extra part and figure it out, I can't in good conscience give Speedi-Products a higher rating. If they started supplying their dryer box with their own adjustable elbow instead of the straight vent, then this would be a 5 star product!
The idea is good, but beware that this is designed to fit in a 2x4 stud wall. With a 4" vent there is no room between the top plastic frame and the vent for drywall (see photo). I wish they made one for a 2x6 stud wall, so that the frame could make allowance for the drywall. Not sure what they were thinking when they designed it.
