Family-owned lawn and garden tool manufacturer Swisher understands that certain lawn and garden tasks call for high-powered cutting beyond the capabilities of a regular mower or trimmer. For such tasks, Swisher created the Predator, a rough-cut walk behind cutter. Equipped with a powerful 9 horsepower Briggs & Stratton engine, the cutter deftly chops hardy and cumbersome brush, weeds, and saplings, covering up to 2/3 an acre per hour. The cutter features one securely enclosed, hardened steel blade, which cuts branches and other growth up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter. The blade measures 1/8-inch wide with a cutting deck of 24 inches. A four-speed transmission allows the self-propelled mower to adapt to diverse tasks and climates. The cutter even includes a reverse gear, though the blade is disabled while in reverse for greater safety precautions. Users easily operate the cutter with the controls located conveniently on the handlebars. For greater comfort, two height options allow users to adjust the cutter for individual size, while an ergonomically-correct handle bar design adds extra comfort. Safety guards on the front and sides of the cutter eliminate risks of airborne debris. Large traction tires help the cutter maneuver with ease on varied terrain. For best results, run the cutter at full throttle in dry conditions. Cross cutting at slower speeds may be helpful for denser areas. The cutter runs on regular unleaded gasoline, and comes with a detailed manual for assembly assistance and safety tips. Swisher offers a limited one-year warranty in the event of defective parts or construction. The engine is covered by a separate Briggs & Stratton warranty. The cutter measures 59 by 30 by 30 inches, and weighs 250 pounds. --Jessica Reuling
